Firehouse Guitars review for review muskegon
As anyone who has played instruments for a while will realize, sometimes there is just that “one” guitar that you know is yours the moment you pick it up. Not too long ago, I was wandering around Firehouse Guitars in Muskegon Michigan, and picked up “my” guitar. Sure, it looked like others of it's make; there are a lot of strats out there. But there was something about this one that just spoke to me. I have played a lot of 'em looking for “my” guitar. I looked a lot more online, at all the online music stores out there, but sometimes you just have to get it in your hands to know if it is the guitar for you.
Firehouse has a whole wall full of guitars, and they don't mind if you take em down and play em either. Some music stores are more like museums, where the guitars are to be admired on the wall like art. But the guys at Firehouse even encourage you to take em down and play em. They understand what it's like, cause they all play themselves. They can give you advice on pretty much everything in the store, and a lot of stuff they can order from the warehouse for you too. I haven't been to the warehouse, but I bet that's a fun place to spend a day.
So anyway, I was playing on my guitar, that I knew would soon be going home with me, when Brandon came over and gave me a big smile. I bet he could tell I was hooked on this one. So long story short, yeah, I took it home. The guys went over it for me real quick to make sure nothing had happened to it while it was in the store, told me about what to do if I needed service and even suggested some Fender Bullet strings, since they apparently work better with the Strat's trem than ball end strings. The price I paid was lower than some of the places online had the same guitar for, and I got it local so if something does go wrong in a while, I can get it fixed without having to ship it halfway to china.
The guys are all real friendly, and very helpful, they have a pretty good selection on hand and they can order you just about anything and the place has a nice feel to it. And its easy to find too. Take US 31 to the Sternburg road exit and go west. They are in the first plaza on the right at the far end. Next time I'm up that way, I gotta stop in and check out the comic shop there too.

I probably should explain a little more about this review site. I pretty much just format and post the reviews sent to me by our crew members as the webmaster. There may be some variety in what gets reviewed, and how it gets written. So if things seem a little disjointed from review to review, that is why.
We are discussing giving everyone pen names so you can tell one reviewer from another, and over time get a feel for what they are into as well.

Russ's Resturant M-120 just east of US 31
Russ's is a locally owned and operated chain of restaurants in West Michigan with a subtle Dutch theme. This review is for the Russ's on M-120 / E. River Rd at the “Fremont” exit just north of Muskegon Michigan off US 31.
We have eaten at this location for some time, and have visited other Russ's along the lakeshore as well over the years, and all are fairly consistent. The staff is always friendly and the service is good.
Russ's pre-prepared foods are made at the big commissary in Holland and brought in to each restaurant for final prep and cooking (like soups for example). So the quality is better than most other restaurant chains, and is usually much fresher as well.
What makes Russ's stand out as unique is they have figured out a seasonal menu that makes this restaurant a one stop comfort food spot. In the summer, a steaming bowl of chilli isn't what most people want, and in the middle of winter a cold slice of lemonade pie wouldn't be the thing that hits the spot either. Russ's knows that, and adjusts their menu accordingly. They also have very good senior and kids meals that have some variation with the season.
The only drawback to Russ's is that lovely changing menu. If you are on a diet, there are so many temptations! The food is very rich and the portions do not leave you hungry, so yet another diet danger, but oh so worth it.
As we write this, fall is just around the corner, so we are looking forward to a nice hot bowl of Ruben soup. It's exactly what it sounds like, and really rich and tasty. Last fall our wonderful waitress suggested it, and it has become a favorite.
If you find yourselves heading up north to see the colors, or heading to the sand dunes in the summer, stop by Russ's with the whole family and give it a try. Meals are in the 5-12 dollar range (depending on what you order and if its lunch or dinner) so you can feed the whole clan without breaking the bank. But go hungry.
